Two Ukrainian citizens were injured in a road accident on the Athens-Thessaloniki highway near the town of Katerini in Greece on September 7 and were taken to hospital, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has reported.

"According to doctors, there is no threat to the life of the injured Ukrainian citizens. A Ukrainian woman was discharged from hospital on September 9 after receiving medical assistance, whereas a Ukrainian man will undergo medical treatment until September 12," Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleksandr Dykusarov said.

He noted that representatives of the Ukrainian Consulate in Thessaloniki were in constant contract with the Ukrainians and, if necessary, they are ready to help them return home.

"Ukraine’s Consulate General in Thessaloniki and the Consular Service Department of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry are overseeing the case," Dykusarov said.
