First Deputy Leader of the Batkivschyna all-Ukrainian Union Oleksandr Turchynov has arrived at Central Clinical Hospital No.5, where the convicted leader of the party and former prime minister, Yulia Tymoshenko, is undergoing treatment.

Turchynov entered the hospital’s territory, accompanied by MP Andriy Pavlovsky and MP Serhiy Pashynsky (both members of the BYT-Batkivschyna faction), an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported. Tymoshenko’s defense lawyer Oleksandr Plakhotniuk arrived at the hospital later.

Turchynov said he didn’t know how long his meeting with Tymoshenko would last. “As long as the prison service will allow. According to the law, up to four hours,” the politician told the agency.

As reported, the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine reported on Tuesday that it allowed former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko to meet with Turchynov and EU Ambassador to Ukraine Jose Manuel Pinto Teixeira.
