Former Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko has cast a ballot at Kharkiv-based Central Clinical Hospital No. 5 in the presence of international observers from the OSCE.

The international observers said that the ex-premier thanked their delegation for support.

“Yulia Tymoshenko confirmed that support of Europe means a lot to her. We also expressed our immense support to democracy in the European Union and in the whole world. It is very important to us,” OSCE observer Lykke Friis said.

The observers said that the poll at the hospital and a conversation with the ex-premier took five minutes.

When asked why they spent so much time on the territory of the hospital, they said that it was due to security measures.

“We are very surprised by so many security measures applied to such a delicate woman, who is staying in the ward,” the observer said.

She added that she had to take off her necklace during an examination, and her colleague said that he had to take off his wedding ring.

The observers also noted that Tymoshenko voted in bed, she did not get up during their visit.
