Talks with the Ukrainian authorities are not needed amid the existing situation - it is necessary to demand the resignation of President Viktor Yanukovych and "his circle," former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said.

“No talks with the gang and no round tables with them. Just immediate resignation of Yanukovych and his circle,” Tymoshenko was quoted as saying in her statement released by the Batkivschyna party press office on Wednesday.

Tymoshenko said she urged leaders of the democratic world to act. “Each blow by Berkut against peaceful Ukrainians is a hit on universal human values, which you are trying to make the basis of life. I am begging you – act!” the statement said.

“Stop the authoritarian regime in Ukraine with financial and visa sanctions and international anti-corruption investigations. Otherwise, a cemetery of freedom will be built in Ukraine. Act!” the former prime minister said.
