You're reading: UDAR wants new proportionate elections in Ukraine

UDAR party has asked Ukraine's Central Elections Commission not to announce the returns of Rada elections but to initiate a law in line with which new parliamentary elections would be held.

“UDAR is addressing CEC not to announce the results of elections that
have been distorted by now and do not reflect the actual choice of
citizens. And the Verkhovna Rada the powers of which have not expired
yet should cancel the shameful law on elections that created the field
for the lawlessness that is happening today and that has driven the
country into a blind alley of political crisis,” a statement posted on
the UDAR website on Sunday says.

“Parliament must pass a law on elections to be held on a
proportionate basis with open tickets pursuant to which new elections to
Verkhovna Rada should be held,” the party believes.
