Ukraine adopts code of ethics and professional conduct for prosecutors

“This document is a compilation of high moral and ethical standards
of conduct for employees of prosecuting agencies. The code is mandatory
for all employees of prosecutor’s offices at absolutely all levels. It
applies to all actions by employees of prosecutor’s offices during the
performance of their duties and in everyday life,” Prosecutor General
Viktor Pshonka said, speaking at the conference.

According to the media liaisons department of the Prosecutor
General’s Office, the conference delegates expressed their opinions and
suggestions during the discussion of the document. After that, the code
was unanimously adopted.

The prosecutor general signed a decree introducing the code of ethics
and professional conduct for employees of prosecutor’s offices from
December 1, 2012.
