You're reading: Ukraine, Jordan sign a number of bilateral documents

Amman, April 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Jordanian government have signed an agreement on cooperation in vocational education.

An Interfax-Ukraine reporter said that the document was signed in Amman on Monday after talks between Ukrainian and Jordanian delegations.

This is the first intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in vocational education over the period of Ukraine’s independence. The agreement foresees the establishment of cooperation between the two governments in the sphere of vocational education, in particular, the exchange of experience, joint research in this sphere, and the exchange of students and teachers.

The sides also signed five more documents, in particular, an agreement between the Ukrainian Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry and the Jordanian Agriculture Ministry on cooperation in the field of plant quarantine, a memorandum on economic, scientific and technical cooperation in agriculture, an agreement on cooperation between the Ministry of Science and Education, Youth and Sports of Ukraine and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Jordan, a memorandum between the State Agency of Ukraine for Investments and Management of National Projects and the Jordan Investment Board, and an agreement on cooperation between the National News Agency of Ukraine (Ukrinform) and the Jordan News Agency (Petra).

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych is on an official visit to Jordan on April 16-17.
