Brussels – The North Atlantic Alliance plans to hold a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine commission in the frames the NATO defense ministers' meeting in Brussels on February 21-22, NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen has said.

“We plan a NATO–Ukraine commission meeting at the level of defense ministers when NATO defense ministers meet in February. So this shows that despite certain political problems we will continue a high-level political dialog with Ukraine,” he said at the press conference in Brussels on Thursday, dedicated to the alliance’s plans for this year responding to a question by an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent.

Rasmussen said: “We attach great importance to our partnership with Ukraine. And we appreciate that the Ukrainian political leadership has clearly expressed its ambition to develop its partnership with NATO within the current framework.”

The meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission at the level of defense ministers did not take place in 2012.
