The Ukrainian state border service has significantly restricted entry to Russian men, citing the terrorist threat as being its main motivation.

“As of today we have significantly restricted entry to Ukraine for
male adults of Russian nationality,” a border service spokesperson told
Interfax on Thursday.

The decision was made after reports about possible provocations and terrorist attacks.

“Due to information about possible provocations on the national
border and terrorist attacks, border guards have temporarily tightened
control over citizens traveling to our country from Russia,” the
spokesperson said.

Aeroflot Russian Airlines Company earlier on Thursday reported that
Ukraine had introduced entry restrictions regarding Russian adult males.

In particular, the restriction will apply to male citizens aged
between 16 and 60. Such individuals will be allowed to enter Ukraine
only in exceptional cases and upon the decision of border regional
department head following control measures, Aeroflot said.
