On 28 June, Ukraine celebrates 20 years since the country's current Constitution came into force. The Constitution Day is a public holiday. The country's main document was adopted by Ukraine's Parliament (the Verkhovna Rada) on the night of 27- 28 June, in 1996 - the fifth year after the proclamation of independence.
