The Ukrainian National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting has ordered providers to take the Russian television channels RTR-Planeta, NTV-Mir, Rossiya 24, and TV Tsentr-International off the air.

“A decision has been made to recognize that the content of the

Tsentr-International does not meet the requirements of the European
Convention on Transfrontier television and art 1 of Article 42 of the
Ukrainian law On Television and Radio Broadcasting, notify the providers
about that, and order them to bring their activities into compliance
with this decision,” the press service for the National Council on
Television and Radio Broadcasting reported on Friday.

Kostiantyn Hrytsak, director of Ukraine’s Telecommunications Chamber,
assured members of the National Council that the associations working
on the commercial television market will take all measures to halt
illegal broadcasting by these channels if it is registered.
