You're reading: Ukrainian army observes 51 attacks on its positions in Donbas

KYIV - A total of 51 militant attacks were observed in eastern Ukraine in the past 24 hours, the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) press center wrote on Facebook on Wednesday morning.

According to the press center, Ukrainian army positions came under attack of large-caliber machineguns and various kinds of grenade launchers near Pisky, Berezove, Luhanske and Troitske in the Donetsk sector, while fortifications near Avdiyivka, Nevelske, Opytne, Novhorodske and Zaitseve were shelled by mortars.

Small arms and grenade launchers were used against Ukrainian positions near Hnutove, Talakivka and Starohnativka in the Mariupol sector, while 122mm self-propelled artillery weapons were fired near Novotroitske and twice near Lebedynske, the report said. Hostile snipers were active near Maryinka.

Mortars shelled Ukrainian army positions near Novozvanivka in the Luhansk sector, and random fire of small arms and automatic grenade launchers was observed near Krymske and the Zolote checkpoint, the press center said.
