You're reading: Ukrainian army reports 69 strikes on its positions in Donbas

Positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Donbas have come under fire 69 times in the past 24 hours, the press center of Kyiv's army operation in eastern Ukraine reported on its Facebook account on Jan. 22 morning.

According to the press center, grenade launchers, large-caliber submachine guns and small arms were used against Ukrainian checkpoints in Pisky, Opytne, Krasnohorivka and Maryinka.

Large-caliber submachine guns were fired at Ukrainian military positions along the Svitlodarsk arch, and grenade launchers were used near Mayorsk.

Mortars and an anti-tank missile system were fired at a Ukrainian checkpoint near the city of Mariupol, while Ukrainian army positions in the vicinity of Starohnativka came under 120mm mortar fire.

An automatic grenade launcher was fired near Zolote in the Luhansk region.
