You're reading: Ukrainian delegation to leave for talks with IMF

A Ukrainian delegation consisting of Finance Minister Oleksandr Shlapak, Economic Development and Trade Minister Pavlo Sheremeta and National Bank of Ukraine Governor Stepan Kubiv will leave for negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Thursday, April 10.

“Our delegation – the finance minister, the National Bank governor
and I – is flying out tomorrow. Everything is under control. Everything
is going according to schedule. That the [IMF world growth] outlook has
been cut is not a signal. Everything is going according to schedule,”
Sheremeta told journalists on Wednesday.

“There are no additional claims from the IMF. There are expectations, procedural issues. Decisions should be made,” he added.

As reported, the IMF’s mission reached a working-level agreement on
March 27 with Ukrainian leadership on opening a two-year credit of
between $14 billion and $18 billion.

The agreements are awaiting approval by the IMF’s governing bodies,
and the fund’s executive committee will reach a decision on the issue in
April.
