Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara is sure all preconditions are in place for Ukraine to sign an association agreement with the European Union at an upcoming Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius.

“I believe all preconditions are in place today for us to achieve
this positive result,” Kozhara said when asked by Interfax in the
Chernihiv region on Wednesday about chances for signing the agreement.

Ukraine has complied with all technical standards for signing the
document, and only some political issues still remain unresolved, he
said.

“At the same time, all outstanding issues against the background of
relations between the 46 million Ukrainians and 500 million EU citizens,
in our view, do not play a decisive political role. Therefore, we
expect a positive result from the Verkhovna Rada’s work and a successful
result from the upcoming Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius,”
Kozhara said.
