Investigators from the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) have completed a pretrial criminal investigation in absentia, against Russian-separatist leader Igor Plotnitsky, suspected of committing a number of crimes, the SBU press service reported on March 22.

“Plotnitsky has been charged with committing an act of terrorism in collusion with a number of other individuals. Together with an organized criminal group, he was also involved in the abduction, illegal deprivation of freedom, and illegal transfer over the border of Nadia Savchenko, a senior lieutenant of the Ukrainian armed forces,” it said.

“At an instruction by the Kyiv city prosecutor’s office, the parties to the criminal proceedings have been informed on the completion of the pretrial investigation, and its materials have been opened to them, for familiarization. In the near future, the criminal case in relation to Ihor Plotnitsky will be forwarded to courts along with an indictment,” it said.
