Ukrainian railways transported more than 5.4 million passengers during the finals of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship.

According to State Railways Administration Ukrzaliznytsia, the railways transported about 20,000 fans per day.

High-speed Intercity and Intercity+ trains carried over 150,000 passengers during Euro 2012.

Ukrzaliznytsia noted that extra 24 trains were introduced especially for the tournament, and volunteer students from the railway universities of Ukraine worked round-the-clock at the railway stations of the cities hosting Euro 2012.
