US calls on Ukraine’s leaders to end ‘the oligarchic grip on politics and the economy’

Ukrainians on February 20, 2016 marked a sombre second anniversary of the bloody end of the revolution that ousted Russian-backed president Viktor Yanukovych, with a fresh political crisis in the country's current leadership. The Vice President of United States Joe Biden sent his respects to the people of Ukraine, President Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressing to both leaders that "there is still a great deal of work to be done to honor the legacy of the brave Ukrainians who have given so much in their pursuit of a better future for their country".
