Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has accused the government lead by Prime Minister Mykola Azarov of sabotaging the reforms and has urged the cabinet to change its mode of work.

Analyzing the prime minister’s report on the execution of the national plan of reforms in 2012, which was presented at a meeting of the committee on economic reforms in Kyiv on Thursday, Yanukovych said he was surprised at the slow progress of the implementation of reforms.

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has accused the government led by Prime Minister Mykola Azarov of sabotaging the planned reforms and has called on the premier to change the cabinet’s mode of work.

“How can you implement only 35% or 25% [of the reforms plan]? This is sabotage. It means that people have simply lost all responsibility,” the head of state said.

According to him, the executive authorities have lost control over this work.

At the same time, Yanukovych said that he oins his hopes on the newly appointed ministers.

“I would ask you, Mykola Yanovych [Azarov], to change the government’s mode of work little by little, and analyze the progress regularly, without waiting for the end of the year,” the president said.

Yanukovych said that he also bears responsibility for the current situation.

“It is sad for me to say it, but we have no right to refuse to face the truth,” he said.
