The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine has not fulfilled its task for the effective implementation of the law on the creation of new jobs, which took effect at the beginning of 2013, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said.

“There is a law that has currently not been implemented, and the
Economy Ministry has not done this work… I know very well the history
of this issue,” he said in Luhansk on Thursday during a visiting meeting
of the Council of Regions.

He noted that he had already made remarks to some heads of regional
state administrations regarding the failure to use this law, which
foresees, in particular, mechanisms and incentives to attract
investment.

While addressing Economic Development and Trade Minister Ihor
Prasolov, Yanukovych said that he is personally responsible for the
relevant work on the implementation of the law.

“It is your personal responsibility. You should soon discuss this
issue with your subordinates… If necessary, hold a conference call,”
he said, while addressing the minister.
