The Ukrainian authorities are monitoring the observance of the law in the trials in the case of the murder of journalist Georgy Gongadze, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said.
“We’re carefully monitoring the observance of the law in the legal
proceedings in the case of Georgy Gongadze. The Ukrainian authorities,
as I have repeatedly stressed, want this case to be devoid of any
pressure, which will ensure an ultimately legal decision,” the head of
state said, speaking at the opening of the 64th World Newspaper Congress
and the 19th World Editors Forum in Kyiv on Monday, Sept.3.
