The legal basis for the introduction of land reform has been drawn up in Ukraine, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said.

The introduction of land reform will attract effective investors to
the agrarian sector and ensure the successful and rational management of
land resources, Yanukovych said at the Ukrainian-UAE business forum in
Abu Dhabi (the United Arab Emirates), the president’s press service has
reported.

In addition, the head of state said that by conducting comprehensive
reforms in various spheres of the country’s life and implementing
deregulation, the authorities are doing their best to create a favorable
business climate.

“Purposeful work on the creation of the conditions for fair
competition and the protection of investors’ rights is being carried
out,” Yanukovych said.

He said that a unique package of investment stimuli, the most liberal
Tax Code in Eastern Europe – which is fully in line with the European
standards – and reforms in the customs sphere are designed to relax the
conditions for doing business.

“The main goal of our reform policy is the creation of a modern,
stable, open and competitive economy in the global scale, and the
formation of a professional and effective state management system,”
Yanukovych added.

The head of state also said that the size of investment in the
country has grown, and he expressed confidence that its economy will
continue growing, despite the difficult economic situation in the world.

“I hope that the efforts of the Ukrainian authorities will be
positively accepted by UAE investors, which will promote the stirring up
of your business in Ukraine… We’ll create all of the conditions – both
internal and in foreign policy – for business development,” Yanukovych
said.
