Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said there is a need to develop special programs aimed at protecting the safety of miners.
During a meeting of the governmental commission for investigating in the reasons for the explosion in the Sukhodilska-Skhidna coalmine, the president said that profile agencies, the heads and owners of mines should jointly develop such a program.
"We have to develop a program for fulfillment of all necessary measure for miners’ labor safety," the president’s press service cited Yanukovych as saying.
The president said, "I draw your attention to the importance of the objectivity of the conclusions from this tragedy. This cannot be allowed to happen again."
