Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has called on the Ukrainian oppositional political forces to fight the crisis and work together with the authorities for the sake of Ukrainians' well-being.
“There are no such extremist opposition politics in the developed countries of the world… They don’t have such phenomena in the kinds of societies we are eager to join,” Yanukovych said in the Dialogue with the Country live television program on Friday.
“Politics should not be so tough. We should think, first of all, how to help people during the crisis,” he said.
“When there is a crisis, there should be flexible mechanisms to react promptly to various situations,” he said.
The president said society would support politicians that help the people.
