Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has included Head of Lviv Regional State Administration Viktor Shemchuk in the coordinating committee for preparing for and holding the final tournament of the EuroBasket 2015 European Basketball Championship.
In addition, a general private investor in the championship in Kharkiv, Serhiy Kurchenko, and Acting Director General of the National Television Company of Ukraine Oleksandr Panteleimonov were included in the composition of the committee by consent.
The coordinating committee also includes Youth and Sports Minister Ravil Safiullin, Education and Science Minister Dmytro Tabachnyk and the director of the EuroBasket 2015 local organizing committee, Markiyan Lubkivsky. At the same time, Chairman of Inter TV Channel Egor Benkendorf and former Head of Lviv Regional State Administration Mykhailo Kostyuk were withdrawn from the staff of the committee.
The head of state signed a respective decree, No. 257/2013, introducing amendments to the composition of the coordinating committee for preparing for and holding the final tournament of the European basket championship in 2015, on Wednesday. The decree comes into force from the date of its publication.
