Livadia, June 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has demanded that regional governors immediately take measures to check fire prevention measures.
"Now I demand that we immediately take the situation under control," he said, while opening a meeting of the Council of Regions in Livadia on Friday.
President Yanukovych said that Emergency Situations Minister Viktor Baloha should be in charge of this work.
"Baloha will provide regular reports on what [fire prevention] work is being done in the regions," the president said.
