You're reading: Yanukovych: Finland’s premier, foreign minister to visit Ukraine

NEW YORK – Ukraine hopes for a visit of the prime minister of Finland this year, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said.

“Prime Minister [of Ukraine Mykola] Azarov has invited the prime
minister of Finland, and I hope that this visit will take place in
2012,” Yanukovych said at a meeting with President of Finland Sauli
Väinämö Niinistö in New York on Tuesday, Sept. 25.

According to the Ukrainian president, a meeting of the
Ukrainian-Finnish intergovernmental working group will take place on
October 25.

Yanukovych also said that a visit of the foreign minister of Finland to Ukraine is scheduled for the beginning of 2013.

The Ukrainian president also invited his Finnish counterpart to visit Ukraine.

The two officials also discussed at the issues of European
integration and cooperation with the European Union and Russia, as well
as the gas issue. Yanukovych said that Ukraine was trying to develop
relations with various international organizations, including the
Customs Union.
