Kyiv, December 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said that he still plans to make a state visit to China, which is scheduled for December 3-6, despite the worsening political situation in Ukraine, as he pins high economic hopes on this visit.

“Although the domestic situation in our country is not very good for visits, but if I, relatively speaking, reject this visit, the state’s economy will lose,” – he said in an interview with Ukraine’s leading television channels on Monday.

Yanukovych, citing the Foreign Ministry, said that China had outlined the development of economic relations with Ukraine as a priority and that one of the two visits, which the country organizes at the state level, had been given to Ukraine.

He said that during his visit to China it is planned to sign a great number of agreements, including those envisaging investment in Ukraine.
