You're reading: Yanukovych orders to organize celebration of 67th anniversary of Victory Day

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has signed an order "On the celebration of the 67th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945," the president's press reported.

The document "aimed at honoring the feats of the Ukrainian population in the Great Patriotic War and further strengthening of the state care of veterans" was signed on March 22.

Yanukovych charged the Cabinet of Ministers with organizing a committee on preparations for the anniversary of Victory Day and approving a corresponding plan of events.

Moreover, according to the document, the ministers should foresee the events "on the creation of the proper conditions to support the lives of veterans of war, improve their social and medical care, and ensure the financial provision of the events," the document read.
