You're reading: Yanukovych praises professionalism Ukrainian customs officials shown during Euro 2012

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has praised high professionalism of Ukrainian customs officials during the Euro 2012 European Football Championship.

“I’m sending words of sincere gratitude and respect to customs
officials for showing high professionalism, respect, hospitality,
responsibility of skillfulness during Euro 2012,” the president said,
while congratulating the officials on Day of Customs Service of Ukraine
in Kyiv on Monday.

The president added that Ukrainian customs officials strengthen
respect for Ukraine in the world with their daily work. According to the
head of state, the tourist flow to Ukraine was higher by a third, and
the transport flow across the state border doubled during the European
Football Championship compared to last year.

However, the president also said that the customs service should improve its work to provide revenues for the national budget.

As reported, Head of the State Customs Service of Ukraine Ihor
Kaletnik said that the customs service transferred to the national
budget around Hr 60 billion in H1, 2012.
