You're reading: Yanukovych receives credentials from new EU Delegation head, five new ambassadors

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych received the credentials of newly appointed foreign ambassadors and the new head of the EU Delegation in Ukraine Jan Tombinski on Monday, Sept. 10.

According to the president’s press service, ambassador of Germany
Christof Weil, Ulukbek Chinaliyev of Kyrgyzstan, Sulev Kannike of
Estonia, Osama Tawfiq Yousef Badr of Egypt, and Frank Ngozi Isoh of
Nigeria passed their credentials to the president.

Yanukovych wished the diplomats successful work in Ukraine.

“I hope your countries benefit from your work,” he said.

He said Ukraine is implementing numerous reforms, in particular in
the sphere of the development of democratic institutions, the political
system, and civil society. Work on bringing national legislation into
line with European standards continues, he added.

Yanukovych said he was ready to regularly support dialogues with the diplomats, in particular dialogues on economic relations.

He also drew attention of the ambassadors’ to the sphere of
cooperation with businesses under the Council of Domestic and Foreign
Investors under the president of Ukraine.
