Ukraine's state budget for 2012 should be reviewed in January 2012 with regard to the fair distribution of funds to the regions, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said.

"It’s currently possible to criticize this budget in certain ways, and point to the disproportionate allocation of regional development funds. I demand that you, Mykola Yanovych [Azarov], the finance minister, the entire government and regions consider these issues in January, not waiting for February, and so that all of the resources that we envisaged in the budget for regional development can be distributed fairly and so that there is no bias," he said at a meeting of the Economic Reform Committee in Kyiv on Wednesday.

Yanukovych at said that it was necessary to adopt the state budget in the form in which it was prepared in order to ensure timely payments in 2012.
