You're reading: Yanukovych to visit Poland on February 20-21

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych will make a working visit to Wisla (Poland) on February 20-21, 2013, at the invitation of Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski.

According to the presidential press service, the sides will hold summit talks during the visit. In addition, Yanukovych will hold a trilateral meeting with Komorowski and Slovak President Ivan Gasparovic.

“Special attention will be paid to Ukraine’s European integration, primarily to the preparations for the EU-Ukraine Summit and the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU,” reads the statement.

The agenda of the visit also includes discussion of the intensification of cooperation between Central and Eastern Europe, particularly Ukraine’s involvement in joint activities of the Visegrad Four.

The sides will also discuss transboundary cooperation, intensification of trade and economic relations, cooperation in the spheres of energy and transport, and the development of cultural and social ties.
