Yalta - Ukraine is considering other options for the use of its national gas transport system (GTS) besides just the creation of a joint consortium with Russia and other partners, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said during a presentation at the 9th Yalta Annual Meeting on Friday.
“Ukraine is leaving the creation of a joint consortium to operate and develop the Ukrainian GTS with Russia and our other partners among its agenda priorities. We are also considering other paths of jointly operating the GTS with our partners, taking into account growing demand by the European Union countries for natural gas,” Yanukovych said.
