BANGALORE - Ukraine is interested in more active cooperation with India in the energy sphere, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said.

“We are determined to intensify cooperation with India in the energy
sphere. Ukrainian companies have resources to provide Indian nuclear
power plants, heat power plants, and hydro power plants with necessary
equipment, as well as help to modernize the existing energy facilities,”
he said at the Indian-Ukrainian Business Forum in Bangalore on
Wednesday.

The president added that Ukrainian experts could participate in the construction of solar and wind power plants in India.

Yanukovych also said that Ukraine invites India to implement joint
projects on development of gas turbine power plants using engines
produced by public joint-stock company Motor Sich.

According to the president, Ukrainian enterprises are ready to join
the construction of metallurgy facilities in India using their
experience in integrated design. In particular, he mentioned the
modernization of an iron and steel works in Bellary.

In addition, Ukraine will bid for providing equipment and services to India’s energy facilities.

The president of Ukraine is on a state visit to India on December 9-12.
