Ukrainians are so politicized that they see no improvements in the economy, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said.

“There are currently critics who are used to saying something bad. These are those who have not done anything in their lives for many years. They even don’t know the terminology, but they are criticizing. Therefore, we are living today in a politicized environment,” he said at a meeting of the Committee on Economic Reforms in Kyiv on Wednesday.

“Political tension is so high today. People have again been so confused by politicians that they have again started losing their orientation,” Yanukovych said.

He said that the executive branch of government do not engage in populism and should only tell people the truth.

“We do not need interest or constituencies. We need to develop the country and improve the lives of the people,” he said.
