Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has vetoed a law on amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine on public procurement, in particular, the current law on public procurement.

The president’s proposals to the law have been posted on the Web site of the Verkhovna Rada (bill No.7532 of May 17, 2011).

Bill No.7532 introduces amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine regarding the simplification of the procedure for purchase by enterprises, specifies grounds to apply the one-bidder procurement procedure and establishes a new mechanism for the application of the one-bidder procurement procedure, under which there is no need to obtain approval from the authorized body in the sphere of procurement.
