You're reading: Yanukovych wishes Mohyliov success in Crimean premier’s office

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has thanked Anatoliy Mohyliov for his good performance as head of the Interior Ministry and wished him efficient work in the office of the chairman of the Council of Ministers of Crimea.

"I would like to thank Mohyliov and wish him efficient work in Crimea. I would also like to wish all the inhabitants of Crimea to know that he is a manager, an efficient public administrator, a man who has great experience and is able to perform very complicated functions," Yanukovych said in Kyiv on Tuesday while introducing the newly appointed interior minister, Vitaliy Zakharchenko, to the ministry’s staff.

In turn, Mohyliov assured the president that he would live up to expectations in the new post.

He also urged the Interior Ministry’s staff to show support for Zakharchenko.

As reported, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych approved the nomination of Anatoliy Mohyliov as chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea on Nov. 7.

Prior to this, the president dismissed Mohyliov from the post of Interior Minister of Ukraine and appointed head of the State Tax Service Vitaliy Zakharchenko to this post.

On Tuesday, the Council of Ministers of Crimea will decide on the appointment of Mohyliov as the new premier of the autonomous republic.

According to the first clause of Article 37 of the Constitution of Crimea, the chairman of the Crimean Council of Ministers is nominated by the speaker of the Crimean parliament, his nomination is agreed with the president of Ukraine and then approved by the Crimean parliament.
