Brussels, March 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatseniuk has said he is sure that the decision of Brussels to unilaterally apply trade measures would allow the Ukraine to benefit substantially from the advantages in the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area.

“We welcome the European Union’s proposal concerning the unilateral
application of part of the Agreement on Free Trade Area. It will mean
that the European Union opens its market to Ukrainian goods, which will
provide very good support for the Ukrainian economy and Ukrainian
business, so we can export our products to EU member states,” Yatseniuk
said at the press conference in Brussels on the results of his
participation in the EU extraordinary summit.

Besides, he said that events in Crimea would have negative consequences, first of all, for the economy of peninsula.

“It is difficult to persuade the foreign investors to invest in the
country where Russian tanks are rolling and Russian soldiers are
walking. I don’t exclude that this is a part of the plan. That’s why
we’re calling on Russia to fulfill its international obligations.
Russia’s military aggression has negative political, economic and
military aspects. It’s time to stop,” the Prime Minister said.
