The United States is ready to provide financial assistance to Ukraine, says Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk.

“Today we held a meeting with the  U.S. secretary. We
discussed aspects of economic cooperation, and the process of
preparations for the provision of financial aid from the U.S. has in
fact been started,” Yatseniuk said at a press conference in Kyiv on
Tuesday.

Yatseniuk did not provide details of the agreements and did not
specify the amount of the U.S.’ possible financial assistance, noting
only that the details would be available when the two parties sign
documents stipulating the amount of economic assistance the U.S. agrees
to provide to Ukraine.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry had arrived in Kyiv earlier on Tuesday.
