Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko visited the first night of the performance "Lenin Love, Stalin Love" staged by Andrii Zholdak after a novel by Vasyl Barka "Yellow Duke" devoted to the 1932-1933 Great Famine (Holodomor) in Ukraine, the presidential press service informed.

The first night took place at the National Opera in Kyiv in the context of events to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Great Famine of 1932-1933.

The performance was staged with the assistance of the Culture and Tourism Ministry and the Institute of National Remembrance.

Actors of the Cherkasy Taras Shevchenko regional musical legitimate theater, Bulgarian artists Tina Dimova and Russian composer Volodymyr Klikov participated in the performance.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, on November 22, Ukraine paid the tribute to the memory of the Famine victims with a minute of silence.

President Viktor Yuschenko and Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko took part in the events on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Great Famine of 1932-1933.
