Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said he keeps his savings in hryvnias.

“I used to keep my savings in hryvnias, as hryvnia deposits have the
highest interest – they are higher than inflation,” the premier said
during a hotline conference with the readers of the Komsomolskaya Pravda
v Ukraine newspaper in Kyiv on Monday.

Azarov also said that hryvnia exchange rate will be stable after the parliamentary elections.

While speaking about the world financial crisis, the premier said
that Ukraine cannot avoid it and promised that the crisis would not
affect the population of the country.

“The crisis may cause certain losses to us, but we will do everything
to ensure that people do not suffer these losses, the state will take
them on itself,” he said.
