Creation of a modern system of rapid response to emergencies is a priority for the Ukrainian government, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.

"The explosions in Dnipropetrovsk have shown that we need to invest more in the security of our citizens. The creation of a modern system of rapid response, primarily for public places and transport, is our top priority," he said opening a government meeting on May 3.

The prime minister said they had already started developing relevant programs.

Azarov expressed confidence that those responsible for the explosions in Dnipropetrovsk on April 27 would be caught and punished. "Innocent people have been injured. Such a challenge to the state will be severely punished. Law enforcers are working. The results won’t take long," he stressed.
