Crimean prime minister: Situation in Crimea under control, nothing threatens Crimean Tatars
The situation in Crimea is under control, and there is absolutely no threat to Crimean Tatars, says Crimean Prime Minister Serhiy Aksionov.
"I am at my workplace, and my duty is to inform the population that the situation is under control. The authorities are working, and the Crimean Supreme Council and its Chairman Volodymyr Konstantynov are at their workplace. I am also performing all of my duties as the chairman of the Crimean Council of Ministers," Aksionov said at a Crimean Council of Ministers meeting shown in a news program on the state Krym TV Channel.
"We guarantee the people, irrespective of their ethnic background, a sober, realistic and just approach in resolving their issues. I am especially addressing the Crimean Tatars: I assure you that nothing threatens you. Everything that is happening today is happening within the legal framework and at a sanction by bodies that have powers on the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, and I urge you to fulfill decisions by this body, the Supreme Council of Crimea," he added.
