Insurgents assault Ukrainian border guards in Luhansk Oblast; at least 15 wounded, 5 dead (UPDATES, VIDEOS)

Pro-Russia militants fire from a residential area at Ukrainian border guards defending the Federal Border Headquarters in Luhansk, eastern Ukraine, on June 2, 2014. Ukrainian forces killed five rebels on June 2 while repelling an attack by 500 pro-Russian gunmen on a federal border guard camp in the strife-torn separatist east, Kyiv officials said. Five Russian-backed separatists were killed, and eight wounded as of 11 a.m. amid ongoing fighting at the Border Guard Service coordination center in Luhansk Oblast after it was assaulted around 12:30 a.m. this morning, the country's border guard service reports.
