MEP Siwiec sending monitoring mission to assess election campaign in Dnipropetrovsk
Brussels - Member of the European Parliament Marek Siwiec (the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats) is sending an election observation mission to Dnipropetrovsk to monitor the progress of the parliamentary election campaign.
The mission, which includes members of the staff of Siwiec's office, as well as representatives of Poland and Ukraine, will work in Dnipropetrovsk on October 3-4, Interfax-Ukraine learned at the MEP's office on Friday.
Siwiec himself will be a member of the European Parliament's observation mission in Ukraine.
According to Siwiec's office, the mission intends to assess the current state of the election campaign, in particular the access of all participants in the electoral process to the media, and if the apparatus of government is being used to influence the vote.
The mission will issue a report in mid-October.
The parliamentary elections in Ukraine are scheduled for October 28.
