The security chief for the Euro 2012 football championship in Ukraine, Oleksandr Birsan, said law enforcement services have not established any direct link between the blasts in Dnipropetrovsk on April 27 and the upcoming football championship.
"No direct link has been tracked down between those events and the European championship," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Friday, May 4.

The agencies in charge of security at the football championship will take the incident into account while getting ready for Euro 2012 and the security for the championship will be guaranteed, Birsan said.

Euro 2012 will take place as planned and we will guarantee an enjoyable show for football fans, he said.
