The police have seized more than 109,000 fir-trees from poachers, according to the public relations department of the Interior Ministry. 

The cost of the seized trees exceeds Hr 2.8 million.

Policemen and public activists organized patrolling outside the forest, the Interior Ministry said.

“The checks of over 35,500 cars were organized. Besides, more than 9,000 markets and shopping areas, where Christmas trees are sold are being checked,” the police said.

As reported, on December 29, law enforcement officers seized over 26,400 fir-trees worth Hr 1.7 million, which were illegally cut down in Ukraine. A total of 1,394 poachers have been detained.
