Latest Russian ultimatum for Ukraine passes with no reports of violence thus far on March 4

A Russian naval ship (at right and further offshore) has been circling the Black Sea shore near Sevastopol Bay and issuing what sound like commands to the Ukrainian ship via a loudspeaker. Two news agencies -- Interfax-Ukraine and Channel 5 -- have said that the Russian Black Sea Fleet command has issued ultimatums to their Ukrainian counterparts to surrender tonight or face attack. A security source confirmed the reported threats to the Kyiv Post.

 Editor's Note: The EuroMaidan Revolution entered its 103rd day on March 3 with Russian military forces in control of Ukraine's Crimean peninsula after an invasion that began on Feb. 27. In the meantime, Viktor Yanukovych, ousted as Ukrainian president on Feb. 22, remains in exile in Russia as Russian President Vladimir Putin asserts the right to intervene militarily throughout Ukraine and stay indefinitely.
