Schools in Ukrainian villages could get 986 buses in 2012

The national budget of Ukraine for 2012 foresees Hr 352 million for the purchase of school buses for rural areas.
It is 5 times up on 2011, according to the Finance Ministry.

This will allow purchasing 986 school buses, including 43 vehicles for handicapped children.

The national budget for 2012 also foresees Hr 233.2 million (2 times up) for the publication of textbooks and manuals and providing university students, general and vocational school pupils, as well as preschoolers with them.

"These funds will be used to publish textbooks for the first form pupils, who will study according to new programs, reprint textbooks for the fifth form pupils, provide special education institution pupils with textbooks, and print the School Library series fiction for the tenth and eleventh form pupils of general and vocational schools,” reads the statement.
